Dr. Schlissel received his dental degree from the School of Dental Medicine, State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo and his Materials Science degree from the College of Engineering and Applied Science from SUNY at Stony Brook. He is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. He is Professor Emeritus of General Dentistry, School of Dental Medicine at Stony Brook University in New York, where he served as Chair, Department of General Dentistry, Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs, and Director of the General Practice Residency Program. After leaving the School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Schlissel practiced restorative dentistry in Marietta, Georgia. He has been involved in education and clinical research, including dental implants, since 1973. His fields of interest include dental materials, digital imaging, CAD/CAM technology and techniques, guided implant surgery, and evaluation of clinical outcomes.
