The field of digital intraoral scanning is growing fast, as evidenced by the number of available new scanners that have more features and benefits. This lecture will demonstrate the routine daily use of intraoral scans, digital photography, CBCT images, and 3D printing for diagnosis, planning, and treatment. The speaker will demonstrate how implant clinical digital workflows will improve efficacy and effectiveness when integrated with an on-site digital dental laboratory to create predictable and quality restorations digitally.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the improved efficiency and effectiveness of implant clinical digital workflows when assisted by an on-site digital dental laboratory using CAD CAM Technology in order to design and fabricate quality digital surgical guides and restorations predictably with 4/5-axis milling machines and 3D printers
  • Understand the importance of combining intraoral scans and CBCT images for proper diagnosis, planning, and treatment and provide the necessary data to be shared with dental laboratory support
  • Recognize the types of intraoral scanners available on the market and their respective uses, advantages, and disadvantages
