With the immediate extraction and placement of anterior dental fixtures having now been validated for many years, there are still often many clinical scenarios that the average clinician will deem too unpredictable to consider this protocol, particularly in the high lip line patient with a thin tissue phenotype. While there are several well-established site preservation methods available, the speaker will present the methodology for the FGG socket seal technique, a simple yet invaluable protocol to gain vascularized, attached vertical and horizontal keratinized gingival tissues while not just preserving, but also augmenting the existing bony alveolar housing! 3-dimensional imaging with clinical macro-photography will help validate this often overlooked important tool in the esthetic implant dentist’s toolbox. A visual workflow of the micro-suturing of the autogenous soft tissue will also be presented.
Learning Objectives:
Explore how to identify higher-risk implant cases in the esthetic zone
Learn to assess and plan for a harvest of autogenous palatal keratinized tissue
Learn how to develop and fixate the autogenous graft in the recipient site using microsuturing tool and techniques
